World-class safety technology is a key part of what makes driving a Nissan so reliable. Your Nissan’s Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI) systems work to ensure your vehicle doesn’t leave the travelling lane unintentionally. If your vehicle is at risk, the LDW and I-IL systems provide visual and audio alerts to the driver, as well as lightly applying the brakes to avoid an unwanted maneuver. The innovative LDW and I-LI systems can save you from an accident in a pinch! To learn more about how to use these systems, follow along with the experts at West End Nissan, your local Edmonton Nissan dealership!
Lane Departure Warning
LDW (if equipped) is activated at speeds of over 60km/hr and only when the lane markings are clearly visible on the road. The systems monitor lane markings by utilizing a small camera located above the vehicle’s interior rearview mirror. Lane Departure Warning is activated if the system detects that the vehicle is veering too far–either right or left–outside of the travelling lane. A blinking lane departure warning light appears on the instrument panel and a warning chime sounds.
To enable or disable the LDW, press the right or left arrow button on your steering wheel to reach the “settings” menu, use the up or down arrows to select:
Settings->Driver Assistance->Driving Aids->Lane->Warning
Intelligent Lane Intervention
The I-IL system operates with the same interior mounted camera as LDW and is activated under the same conditions as the LDW system. In addition to the LDW’s visual and audio warnings, the I-IL will apply a brief braking force in order to return the vehicle to the travelling lane.
To enable or disable the I-IL, press the right or left arrow button on your steering wheel to reach the “settings” menu, use the up or down arrows to select:
Settings->Driver Assistance->Driving Aids->Lane->Assist
Additionally, in vehicles equipped with ProPilot Assist, push the ProPilot assist button located on your steering wheel to activate the I-IL system. In vehicles not equipped with ProPilot Assist, you can activate or deactivate the LDW and I-IL systems by pushing the dynamic driver assistance switch.
